I'm sure you're already aware, but yesterday director Tony Scott committed suicide in rather dramatic fashion. Jumping off a bridge would not be my way to go, whether or not I had cancer.
I can't claim to be a big fan of his flashy-but-empty star vehicles, though he made some genuinely good movies early in his career (The Hunger, Crimson Tide). Still, this is a fate you wouldn't wish on Joel Schumacker. And by most accounts he was a fairly nice guy by Hollywood standards. Here's hoping Tony is at peace, wherever he now is. My condolences to his family, including of course brother Ridley.
