Happy Veterans Day, or Armistice Day, Remembrance Day or whatever your country calls it. I'm not usually the maudlin sort, but with many veterans in my immediate family (including my father) it's a holiday I hold dearly.
For historically-minded readers, here's an interesting talk by historian Hew Strachan. Strachan is the author of several books on World War I, as well producing the excellent Channel 4 series The First World War.
