Well, that might give one or two folk in Lambeth Palace an attack of the vapours.

Let's imagine a few more public figures and where they might be re-buried.....

Queen Elizabeth I to be given a Requiem Mass at The London Oratory

or, maybe

Sir Ian Paisley to finish up (when he does actually die) at St James's, Spanish Place.

Stephen Fry (God bless him) when the time comes should, perhaps go to somewhere a little more humble, St Patrick's Soho Square, a mere stone's throw from a certain watering hole much favoured by the Fry fans.

But the whole concept of taking people away from their spiritual (or atheist) roots is risible.

Some 18 years ago, Tescos wanted to develop part of the Welsh town of Carmarthen so that they could have another superstore and massive car park.

The trouble was that the site that they identified as being the best they could get, had once been a monastery and cemetery for the monks.

Never ones to over worry about religious sensitivities, they went ahead to develop but not before agreeing for the mortal remains to be exhumed and re-buried accompanied by a full TLM, a Latin Mass no less.

It can be done. It should be done with the remains of Richard III.

Richard III - the non Catholics just don't get it

The tussle over where the remains of King Richard III are to be buried rattles on with suggestions that he should be received and re-interred at York Cathedral, Leicester Cathedral or Westminster Abbey.

This is a Catholic King we are talking about and whilst, all of the above mentioned churches were once Catholic, they are Catholic no longer.

Not to labour the point but they are all Protestant and, whichever way you package it, that means that they are heretical - not in communion with the one true Church, in fact, very much out of communion with the OTC.

The letters pages in today's Daily Telegraph carry yet another venue that is totally inappropriate:-

Sir - I too am a descendant of Edward IV, (well you should know better, then) via his daughter Elizabeth of York and her marriage to Henry Tudor.
Would the Queen consider allowing Richard III's remains to be interred in St George's Chapel, Windsor, where his brother, Edward lies?

Well Mrs Bembridge, perhaps a solution to this problem would be for the Protestant Church to return one or all of the Cathedrals and Chapels that were stolen from the Catholic Church.

Then, King Richard could be buried in York, Westminster, Windsor, Chipping Sodbury or, anywhere, for that matter, that was of the same Faith as him.

Yes, one of our great historical Catholic figures (I said great, not necessarily, good) is to be re-interred in a Protestant church with a Protestant ritual. H/T to Deacon Nick and Ttony for this information.

This is the equivalent of burying the Chief Rabbi of England and Wales (after his death, of course) in a Muslim cemetery following a service in the local mosque.

Unthinkable.

But, the decision has been made, Archbishop Nichols has written* to our beloved Prime Minister who now plays Robin to Obama's Batman.

What to do?

Maybe ++ Nichols might like to consider embarrassing David Cameron by celebrating a Latin Mass on the same day and at the same hour as the re-burial service?

Or, His Grace could send in a battalion of Dominican Friars to seize the remains during the ceremony and remove them to a place of safety (a Catholic place of safety).

How ridiculous! And how insulting to Muslims (if it was true).





But, it's not. No one remotely in their right minds, let alone a politician, would contemplate burying a person of a different faith in an opposing church.

Yet, that it is what the authorities have in mind for the bones of the English King Richard III, Catholic and Traditional Catholic, for that matter.

Now that, today, the boffins and bone diggers have had their way with his Majesty's DNA and confirmed that the car park bones do indeed belong to Richard III, sinister plans are afoot to have a 'service' in the Protestant Leicester Cathedral and to inter the remains there, an alien world to the hunchback King.

Wrong. Very, wrong.And if you see my earlier post you will find a link to a petition calling for this decision to be revoked and Richard laid to rest with a Tridentine Latin Requiem Mass (I've added the TLM bit, but I'm sure that's what they mean).

Protect the Pope has a post indicating that Bishop McMahon of Nottingham has stepped into the ring in favour of a Catholic burial for a Catholic King, and good for him.

Why is this important when the deceased has been dead for over 500 years?

Because it is the correct and proper thing to do and because we need to tell the secular world that we have rights and sensitivities and that, to flout them is to court insurrection in the form of many thousands of Rosaries being recited for the enlightenment of the moronic and the Catholic haters.

Today it has been announced that the human remains found beneath a Leicester car park are none other than the Catholic King Richard III, last of the Plantagenets and the last English King to die in battle (Bosworth Field 1485).

Forget about what happened to the two young Princes, forget about the limp and the deformed back, Richard was a Catholic, good or bad - and, as with most of us, in all probability a sinner but one worthy of God's forgiveness.

It would seem just too banal for this man to have ended up buried in a disabled parking bay in the local council's car park (I trust he possesses a blue badge).

But that, as they say, is how the maccarone crumbles.

It has also been announced that the mortal remains are to be buried in some style by some bod or other in the Protestant Church of England.

No, no, no! That will not do!

Richard III was a Catholic and he died a Catholic some 40 or so years before the Protestant heresy came to England, so he can't be buried according to the Protestant rite, it just ain't rite (sorry).

In fact, he can't even be buried with the Catholic Ordinary Form of Requiem Mass (Ordinary Form? For a King? Pshaw!) because he lived and breathed in a time when the Extraordinary Form of the Tridentine Latin Mass Old Rite, Mass of all Time, was in place and no other.

Please voice your disapproval of this travesty, not by storming Whitehall with lances and trebuchets but by storming Heaven with some fervent prayers.
