So near and yet...

I didn't win James Delingpole's 'Climategate Poetry Prize' but apparently he liked my contribution so he published it along with a group of poems he enjoyed. Unemployed Fame! I won't let it go to my head. It won't change me. Chords are F#, A, Bb...not really.

Climate of Fear

There’s so much you can do with a climate of fear
You can tell the World the World will end next year
The World recoils as if knocked off its axis
In a climate of fear you can raise carbon taxes

Politicians take jets to discuss global warming
The Beeb tell the public temperatures are soaring
The media tell the World it’ll soon its Maker
While all along UEA manipulated the data

The leaders of the World lead the World into error
Like Jacobins ushering a new Reign of Terror
Denouncing unbelievers as climate-change deniers
Lighting kindling for 'flat-earthers' and stoking the fires

In a climate of fear you can frighten whole nations
You can blame climate change on over-population
You can throw condoms at Africa to stop the blacks breeding
You can sterilse the poor who really needed feeding

You can keep weak countries weak by throwing them money
Because if they ever got stronger that wouldn’t be funny
Tell them the carbon cloud across the World is enveloping
That way you can stop them from actually developing

Al Gore makes speeches from Istanbul to East Grinsted
About the dangers of carbon and now he is minted
Oil companies advertise they’re cutting CO2 emissions
Magnets see money here and money is their mission

Only The Telegraph wants to expose this great sham
This hoax, this deception, a global government scam
The whole thing it appears is a con, a big fraud
We can’t trust the media so trust in the Lord

Meanwhile the Daily Mail is reporting that this sudden chill is most likely not going to be a 'blip'.

The bitter winter afflicting much of the Northern Hemisphere is only the start of a global trend towards cooler weather that is likely to last for 20 or 30 years, say some of the world’s most eminent climate scientists.
Their predictions – based on an analysis of natural cycles in water temperatures in the Pacific and Atlantic oceans – challenge some of the global warming orthodoxy’s most deeply cherished beliefs, such as the claim that the North Pole will be free of ice in summer by 2013.

Hopefully, the following video and radio excerpt is not the real reason for 'climate change', otherwise we are royally screwed and then some until Our Lord returns.
