Holy Mother Church commands us to feast during the Octave of Easter because, as Morrissey once sang, everyday is like Sunday. Forty days in which we are encouraged to fast and abstain now becomes fifty days of partying culminating in the great Feast of Pentecost.
I was busy for much of Lent, but now, Lord, behold, I come to do your will.
